Al-Qurtubi said about the joy of the fasting person: “It is because his hunger and thirst will end, and this is a natural joy. Others said that he rejoices because he completed his fast and concluded his act of worship and his Lord helped him through it and will support him for the upcoming fast. Al-Haafith said: “The joy of people differs from one person to the other; some people’s joy will be permissible, which is the normal type, and others recommended, which results from what he (Al-Qurtubi) mentioned.”
